POLITICAL PARTIES CLASH IN PARK
HEAVY POLICE PRESENCE AT MEETINGS
Hobbs Park is once again a battle ground, families now avoid the area on Sunday afternoons as rival political parties fight for supremacy. The local Constabulary are doing an excellent job but they are over worked and over stretched.
Last Sunday a meeting by the BUF was attacked by five men hell bent on trouble, anticipating such an outcome the Metropolitan Police had six officers in the park plus several more on call at the station.
The men (none of whom were from Hobbs End) were soon intercepted by the Police and several scuffles broke out. One officer received a cut uniform and a small laceration from a broken bottle and another a black eye.
Soon three of the offenders were arrested, while these arrests were being performed two of the men broke through and attacked a couple of Blackshirts. A Blackshirt managed to knock one of them out whilst the other took to his heels.
Finally four arrests were made, they were taken to Hobbs End Police Station and will appear before Magistrates very soon.
